With over a 100 years of baking experience - bread, pastries, soda breads and Barmbrack - behind her, Nuala Hickey continues the family tradition baking her unique traditional crusty bread, artisan bread, and cakes including the famous Hickey’s Barmbrack.
Hickeys Craft Bakery is a Fourth Generation bakery located in near the historic West Gate in Clonmel. All breads are freshly baked within the bakery, and you can taste the freshness and quality because Nuala starts with only the highest quality ingredients.
Hickeys Bakery was established in 1901, this artisan bakery is complemented by her coffee shop & Deli. Her coffee and salads award winning in their own right, with Nuala’s coffee making skills a winner in the Irish Barista Championships. Hickey’s Bakery and Café is a delicious gem – renowned Author William Trevor noted in his Autobiography, “Excursions in the Real World” that “in Hickey’s Bakery the real world presses it’s claims again” noting that “the coffee is a good as the brack, you’ ill feel lazy and want to stay”.
