When the Traas family began farming near Cahir in 1968, there was already a fine orchard dating back to the early 1900’s on the land they purchased. To this they immediately added more trees, and gradually they converted most of the farm to the growing of fruits.
Nowadays, fruit available include four varieties of strawberries, three varieties of raspberries, amazing sweet cherries, outstanding plums, sixty types of apples, not to mention some pears. There is a shop on the farm where all these fruits are sold, as well as their well-known juices and jams. The shop is open 7 days a week, and people are always welcome to have a walk around and see the fruit growing.
